Blown-Cellulose Insulation
What is blown-in cellulose insulation?
Cellulose insulation is plant fiber used in wall and roof cavities to insulate, draught proof and reduce free noise. Cellulose is among the oldest types of building insulation material.
From attics to walls to floors, cellulose blows over old insulation, above non-woven netting, and into any hard-to-reach space down to the smallest crevice. This leads to great coverage in one fell swoop. You'll find your home much more comfortable, lower heating and cooling bills plus extra benefits including noise reduction and protection from fire, extreme temperatures and humidity.
What kind of cellulose insulation do we use?
We use Greenfiber Cellulose which is made of paper. Once that paper has been used, it can be recycled to make cellulose insulation. For example, 85% of Greenfiber comes from recycled paper, like newspaper.
How does Blown-In Cellulose Work?
Cellulose is denser and has better resistance to airflow than fiberglass, so it works more efficiently as insulation.
